2.0 is not long for release and will have lots of nice fun features to render out the cars in real time. basically saves exporting to racer and/or setting up shaders and spending hours rendering Cheesy

i switch all the lights off and bumped up the environment level to give it a bit more natrual-ish lighting

hey endo, how did you do the backplate in the viewport? is it some kind of spherical image projected onto some kind of dome?

yup that's pretty much it.
spherical map + spherical-ish skybox (sphere, with a semi flattened bottom, with the mapping tweaked so that the map sits nicely along the horizon and doesnt stretch around the points at the top and bottom)

i faked the dof into the skybox texture too.
