concept reminds me a bit of the Audi RSQ or LeMans concepts...

altho i think the rear is too high in the air to drive 550 km/h.

longtail is the way to go! Smiley

Speed Hero

.....Everyone seemed interested in making modern wind tunnel super cars, based on scratch chassis. F1 cars, with a body layed as tightly above it as possible. I'm not interested in Ferrari's, Porsche's, or any of those types of super cars. I like re-engineered street cars. It's just a silly fetish of mine. Vehicles that are found as everyday vehicles.

I'm the kind of guy that likes to stretch the rules to their very maximum. No one mentioned the vehicle had to be built from a scratch chassis. I built mine from a pre-existing chassis. So I present to you.....

Speed Hero SS-R30 (Super Syutoko R30)

Based on an R30 frame, many modifications have been made to allow the vehicle to reach speeds upwards of 550km/ph.
Designed and developed By 'Speed Hero' in a small city near Toronto, Ontario, Canada The vehicle was designed with Japanese DOT standards in mind. A right hand drive AWD, the car features a tri-turbo aluminum V8. Dyno numbers have been tested and averaged for the 3 existing models at over 1700hp around 9500rpm. Power is delivered through a custom built 7 speed sequential transmission, with a special fully 4130 chromoly transfer case, allowing 80% of the power to the rear wheels. Speed Hero also equipped aggressive gear based, front, mid and rear, limited slip differentials (non-clutch pack) allowing the high reeving power to be dropped to the wheels with maximum reliability in mind.  The engine is a marvel of engineering genius, featuring an 8 liter aluminum-iron sleeve V8. The motor is powered by a rare tri-turbo setup. What's specifically most intriguing is the turbo setup: each turbo being slightly larger than the predecessor. Speed Hero's most impressive modification is the first turbo, which doubles as a supercharger. Using a belt to drive it through the first 3000rpm, the belt provides a quick amount of boost, before the exhaust pressure builds enough to surpass the pulley's Rpm. This is accomplished by an internal 'freewheel' which allows the turbo's fan to rotate faster than the belt when pushed to do so. The second turbo becomes active at 6500rpm, and provides the engine with 1100hp through the 5th gear. The third and largest turbo only becomes active in the 6th gear above 7000rpm. This allows the vehicle to be streetable, but still reach 550km/ph. Speed Hero wishes to thank local forum representatives for the opportunity to debut such a vehicle.

General Info:

Top Speed: 550km/ph
Curb Weight: 1300kg
Engine: Tri-turbo 8L V8
MSRP: 42,000,000Y

Special notes: the front corner light and the black area behind the quarter windows, are actually air intake ducts for brake cooling! (It's hard to see, but they are actually 3d ducts)

I understand the entry is late.

OZ had one of his weird insights....

Hum... something crossed my mind here.... nothing involving cars, just the contest. It's clear that we couldn't find a winner in the expected time. but still i thing people should make more and more cars and keep posting they here if they are made under the rulings of the contest.... i mean, the projects that came out were all great and interesting, and by looking on the way we like to do the things here, why bother about wining and such?
